Serene Gardens is a Restaurant/Cafe/Sake Bar & Garden Center/landscape Service with a Japanese theme, located on Grand Island, NY in the Buffalo and Niagara region. This unique destination spot was created by Dr. Joshua M. Smith, his wife Satomi Smith, and brother Mathew Smith. Their concept revolves around nature, art, and culture and is guaranteed to be a unique and refreshing experience. Sit out on the patio with an iced tea or Sakemosa, take a stroll through the Japanese garden, enjoy the atmosphere and modern Japanese music inside…but most of all have a relaxing and refreshing experience.
- Modern Japanese Restaurant/Cafe/Sake Bar - (Today’s Specials) Serene Gardens blends traditional Japanese cuisine with contemporary flare. Our menu changes often with the seasons and local finds in combination with creative and traditional dishes inspired by Chef Satomi’s culinary roots in Japan. We have a wonderful assortment of teas from around the world and the best coffee around. We proudly serve Gimme! Coffee (2013 Roaster of the Year Award) and SPoT Coffee (the Artvoice’s choice for Buffalo’s best coffee 2012). All of the dishes are made daily with the best fresh ingredients available (using local and organic when possible) . The Menu and Daily specials are posted here and also often on Facebook. - Garden Center and Landscaping - We provide design and build services to homeowners, corporations and institutions featuring contemporary garden designs with a specialty in Japanese garden design. The garden center carries all of your average garden supplies as well as professional Japanese gardening tools that we import. Let our award-winning landscape team (2013 “Best Use of Hardscapes” at Plantasia) help you develop your serene garden. We are also the only Certified Nursery & Landscape Professionals (CNLP – What’s This Title Mean?) on Grand Island.
- Gift Store – The gift store within the garden center features a variety of local items as well as handmade items from Japan. We are proud to present Grand Island and local artists’ sculptures and pottery, handbags, paintings, stained glass items etc.
